"Omnien" es el tercer álbum de esta estupenda banda progresiva argentina llamada "Jinetes Negros", luego de los maravillosos trabajos anteriores, "Jinetes Negros (2004)" y "Chronos (2004)". Y el desafío era importante debido al alto estándar de los precitados trabajos, es así que llega ahora este tercer trabajo, que es una conjunción de los dos anteriores con muchísimas cosas nuevas acompañadas por cierto por un gran crecimiento de los Jinetes como banda. Jinetes Negros from Argentina, on their album Omniem they play a wonderful, often dynamic blend of classical, Heavy Prog and folk with a very lush instrumentation, ranging from guitar, organ, flute traverse and saxophone to the use of ethnic instruments like the quena. LINK

On Omniem I hear a melodic and dynamic mix of classical, rock, symphonic, folk and prog metal in which a wide range of instruments, from organ and guitar to ethnic instruments like the quena (small flute) and charango (between a guitar and mandoline with 5 double strings). LINK

This recording contains 12 tracks inspired by painter Salvador Dalí's twelve squares which were taken from the calendar (depicted here). The CD is enhanced and when put into a computer it will show info and music for each graphic as selected. In concept, the second Jinetes Negros CD, "Chronos", is similar to "Astrological" by Edhels. This time out Octavio drew his inspiration from Salvador Dali's 12 paintings featured in the calendar published by the painter's wife Gala Dali Foundation in 2000. Excellent songs, some of which are probably the band's best compositions to date, just alternate with those sounding less convincing, which are located on the even positions. LINK

Sexteto argentino que nos presenta su segundo disco en una linea sinfónica. El uso de instrumentos de vientos, coros y orquestaciones en los teclados le dan un aire muy solemne al disco, aunque pasajes agresivos como el inicio de "Cinco Tigres" nos afirma que esta es una banda de rock ante todo. Resultan fantásticos los trabajos percusivos de Christian Colaizzo y de teclados a cargo de Octavio Stampalia (toda una revelación), y que son las columnas donde se apoyan las elaboradas melodías del grupo, melodías que se van enriqueciendo con el aporte de la flauta (Carlos Tornadú), el violín (David Murstein) y la brillante guitarra de Pablo Robotti. Se destacan sobremanera, le hermosa "Floreces Tiemblas y Te Vas" una melodía exquisita y unas voces increíbles; los aires épicos de "Soldados de Fuego" también con grandes arreglos corales y sinfónicos; la grandiosa suite "Sacro Cielo"; el cierre con broche de oro es la fantástica "El Rey". LINK

With its Wakeman-like keyboard flights, their first (eponymous) album is more likely to please progsters, with parts running the harder edge à la ELP. The grandiose, large-scale impression provided by both the choirs and the simulated orchestral textures (keyboards) give the album a 'rock opera' feel, akin to musicals such as "Les Misérables". LINK
